MEET YOUR TRAINER

As a competitive athlete of 11 years, I have lived amongst the health and fitness industry for nearly my entire life. After finishing my competitive career, I began a new journey as a figure skating coach. I knew I wanted to further my education in Exercise and Sport Science in order to help my skaters with their training, so I pursued my degree at The University of Utah. This led me to develop a strong passion for working with individuals of all ages and skill levels and help in their pursuit of health and fitness goals.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY…

“There is not a better personal trainer!

Katia’s vast understanding of functional anatomy and careful attention to the fine details of body mechanics has awakened muscles once used only sparingly, if at all, to achieve much greater fitness and overall strength.”  –Stephanie W.

“Utilizing her remarkable observational skills and careful listening, she effectively adapts planned workouts to accommodate day-to-day variability in performance. We have been able to generalize her training to all our activities to become healthier and more well-rounded athletes.”  –Park W.

“During the COVID pandemic, when all our routine activities shut down, the single most important and necessary activity we couldn’t forego was our training sessions with Katia. With the help of her videotaped workouts, we were able to do this virtually until in-person workouts became feasible.”  –Stephanie W.

FAQ

Your Title Goes Here
Am I qualified to work with a personal trainer?

We are uniquely equipped to work with all ages and fitness levels. However, for those with major injuries or chronic illness, a physician’s consent may be required prior to beginning training.

I have never exercised before, is strength training safe for me?

Strength training is safe for most everyone. However, we always recommend you check with your physician before starting an exercise program. At Paradigm Lift, your safety is our top priority. We individualize programs for every member to ensure that they are safely able to reap the wonderful benefits of their workout program.

How frequently should I see a trainer?

The frequency of personal training sessions varies from person to person. Just getting started with exercise and healthy eating? Need regular motivation and support to get to the gym? Have an injury that you’re working through? You’ll probably need to see a trainer 1-2 times per week. Many of our members reduce the frequency of their training sessions to bi-weekly or even monthly once they’ve demonstrated the ability to consistently get to the gym and progress their exercises as recommended. Although we miss seeing their faces, we are always pleased when a member reduces their need to see us because they have acquired the self-efficacy they need to be more independent exercisers.

What should I expect from my first session?

Your first session with a trainer is critical to helping you create a foundation for success. Your trainer will spend the majority of the first session collecting information about you in order to develop a program that will be enjoyable and sustainable for you. Your trainer will also review your health history forms, collect baseline measurements, and conduct a postural assessment.

Do you offer joint membership options?

Yes! With the “Paradigm Gift” membership option, you and a friend, family member, or a significant other who would like to train with Paradigm Lift will each recieve $50 off your 8-session packages for the entirety of your training enrollment. Click here for details.

What should I bring to my workout?

Comfortable athletic shoes/clothing, water bottle, yoga mat, and a light snack.

How long is one training session?

Each training session is 1 hour long.

What happens if I need to cancel my session?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please click here or call 801-244-2099 at least 24 hours ahead of time and we will accommodate you.

Where does training with Paradigm Lift take place?

Paradigm Lift is based out of the SLC Sports Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, we also offer In-Home/Outdoor, and Virtual Training sessions.

Is nutrition counseling included with my membership?

No. We can refer you to a degreed nutritionist or dietician for your nutrition needs, if you would like. It is against the “scope of practice” for a personal trainer to give advice on specific calories, nutrients, supplements, etc. However, what we can and will do is educate our members on the foundations of healthy nutrition and assist them with tracking their nutrition via food logs to create accountability and awareness.

How do I sign up?
